newb with a vtec timing question

Default newb with a vtec timing question

i am in the process of buying a 95 gsr and i was wondering when the vtec will kick in, if anyone knows thanks in advance


also, i searched for this info and couldn't find anything, maybe we can make a list of vtec timing for all the stock heads?

maybe a dumb idea, but thanks if u can help with the info

I'm pretty sure around 5500 rpms maybe a little sooner it's in the 5 range tho

usually id say around 4500 or 5k is when it usually kicks it. test drive it and get on it to see when it kicks it

stock trim....supposed to engage at 4500-4600 rpm...all motors are different though

i thought its 4,400 and butterflies open at 5,800 (so thats when you usually hear it).

^^ yessir.

And there is no "every motor is different" on this issue. That's how the ECU is programmed from the factory, and they're all the same, all B18C1's that is.

every motor is different
someones could be all screwy and totally not even have vtec if the ecu or cams are fucke dup
