the skunk2 intake manafold that i have has a virticle throtle body and my factory one is horizontle. i put a 99 civic EX throtle body on it but there is no place to put my throtle position sencer on it so at low RPM's it pulsates. there are also some coolent line problems because a EX throtle body dont have coolent running in it like a DX one. i realy would like to put the origional DX throtle body on it, if anyone knows a way i would realy like to know.

 

Just swap over the throttle rotor and spring from the EX t/b over to the DX t/b and slap it on, good to go.

The issue isn't with the TPS, the TPS and MAP are the same on EX & DX, that thing on your DX t/b that is missing from the EX is the idle air control valve. You removed that when you put the EX on, and then can't idle properly since air can hardly get to the engine.

 

hi, you said to switch the rotor and spring. well i tryed that and the rotor form the EX could not open all the way because of the stoppers on my DX t/b. do you know of anything else i might could try?

 

You must be putting it on wrong, as I have already done that same thing, as have many others who swapped manifolds. The t/b casting is the same between EX/DX. You need slide the spring/rotor on, hook the spring onto the little post, then twist the rotor I think counterclockwise it til theres a good amount of tension fighting against you. Then get the rotor slid onto the shaft and put the nut on. It definitely will work, The EX automatic t/b is just a DX t/b with the EX rotor on it.
