if axle nutts are too tight does it ruin wheel bearings?

the torque spec is over 100 # ft i believe... and i also think that the axle only mates the hub so no matter how tight you go no force is on the bearing...

I'm pretty sure the torque is 130 lbs/ft. I can't say for sure w/o my Helms here at work. Thats a lot of ******* toruqe. It was the absolute most I could do on my old torque wrench.

Yes, it should shorten their life.

Common sense should dictate that anything overtorqued is bad...

of course not enough torque is as bad too, specially if they are new bearings.

Well it's called a Spindle Nut and it's rated at 134 lb-ft. That's why I asked what "axle nuts".

It shouldn't cause any damage.
