Scratches inside head

Default Scratches inside head

Hey everyone, I took off my valve cover on my car today
and found some scratches on the side walls of the head they're not too deep
but its kinda scaring me... is this normal wear and tear???
any help you guys can provide is much appreciated

The head was hand finished by honda, You might want to post pics so we could tell you if it's safe or not.

If your talking about what I think they are normal. Last time I port and polished a b16a head I cleaned them up while I was in there. They are just casting flaws and nothing to worry about.

i dont have a camera right now but i found this pic and outlined where i saw the scratches they're not hairline scratches, they're pretty thick

yea its part of the casting. even it is wasnt the only thing that happens there is oil flows thru there. Wont cause any probs.

yeah it's normal,honda just grinds away on there to clear the valvesprings
