combustion chamber damage?

Just bought this b16 head online and upon inspection I noticed some damage along the edge on one of the combustion chambers ! is this head still good?? thanks for any reply I really didnt know where to post this as i know a few smart people in this FI forum that could prolly give me a good answer! thanks again HT if you need another pic from a different angle lmk

You can try surfacing the head but that damage looks like it's too deep in the head to be repaired easily... you could have someone weld over the damage then surface the head but that's still not a guarantee the head is fixed.
The weld work and resurface would probably cost more than another head if the damage is extensive enough.

it doesnt seem to protrude any ... I would rather fix it if its fixable ,im in no rush thanks for the reply hopefully someone here has had a similar problem

I didn't mean it stuck out. I meant the damage goes too deep into the head to simply surface it.
I'm prerty sure if you surfaced it most of the damage would still be there... and you ca only skim the head so much hence why I said it probably needed to be welded up

looks like the piston got ate for lunch one day. that **** is easily fixable and for pretty cheap if you find the right tig welder. put a nice bead along there, carefully grind out the area that protrudes into the chamber and then resurface.
