Smells like oil?
Hey peeps, I got a question:
When I drive my boosted civic around, and then come to a stop (whether I drive on boost or off) I can smell oil. My mechanic (the one who installed my setup) said I should only smell oil if it's leaking somewhere. We've gone over the entire engine, and it isn't leaking anywhere. Also, no oil gets burned up (and by this I mean that it doesn't smoke out of the exhaust, and the dip stick ramains at above full in between all oil changes).... sooo... I'm just wondering why I can smell it all the time? Or maybe this is actually common. Seeing as how this is my first turbo car, I'm not familiar with all the little things I should know about. Any help?

yeah, filter is on tight. There are no leaks that can be seen (no puddles of oil after parking) and like I said, the oil stays put on the dip stick in between changes.
The PCV system is stock. I dunno, I know the oil isn't "going" anywhere, but I was just wondering if this is common for a turbo car? My pressure stays constant and all too.

I should make a new scent called "Boost" cause I smell like freeking oil everytime I drive my CRX.
Since I run the Endyn fittings off the back of the block there is no PCV system so everytime I drive the CRX people know cause you can smell the oil in my. Funny thing is that my motor does not burn oil, from one oil change to the next most I had to add was half a quart.
People tell me all the time that my car smells like oil but there is no way that this can be fixed cause I tried.
You can try to run a vaccum source to the engine some how to see if that will work, like the V8 guys do. A 45 degree pipe welded on to your exhaust system connected to a one way valve to excavate the fumes to your exhaust. This will work like a PCV system, sorta. Of cause this needs to be connected to a oil catch can so you don't suck the oil out your exhaust.
That is suppose to help the motor seal better too so, right there you got 2 benefits.
