Default Automatic B16A or ZC. Is it possible?

I know alot of people are going to say, "Why would you want an auto? Standard is better because you get a feel for the car". Well I know how to drive both and own a standard 2001 VW Golf GTi GLX VR6. I have a bad injury in my wrist with pinched nerves and driving standard becomes extemely uncomfortable after about 15 min of driving.

Now that that is explained. I have a 1988 Honda CRX and i was wondering if I got a B16A or ZC engine would it be possible to get an automatic tranny for it. I have looked around on the net and talked to people and they dont know. Any help would be greatly appriciated.

Thanks
CRX Forum

P.S. I have an auto 88 CRX so something where I didnt have to change my tranny would be nice

yup. in EF/EG/EK/DC you can get your vtec options in automatic. it even comes with an automatic ecu. for those who are "bi-curious" they have a 4 wheel drive integra the SiR-G. enjoy.

Yes, they make autos for ZCs also. So you could get that. If you couldnt find a ZC auto tranny, get an automatic DX tranny.

Now that I see you have an automatic CRX already, i would swap a ZC in it. Easier than a B seireis swap. Pretty straight forward, other than wiring and ****..

If anyone has interest in purchasing a auto tranny. My friend came across a grip of them when he imported some B16a's. There are prolly 5 or more that he will sell cheap. Email me if interested, Hansen_r81@hotmail.com

Well...a few issues here...

first off the car you start out with must be AUTOMATIC..you can do a auto to manual conversion, but it doesnt work very well the other way around...(alot of things arent there for a auto box)

Get a Auto ZC and an auto tranny from a 90 Civic EX(preferably) or in a pinch a DX or LX tranny will work as well....Get the PM7 Auto ECU and youre set(theyre plug in play)

The choices you have for auto swaps are Civic Hatch DX or SI(sis got a slushbox too) Civic Sedan(all flavors) CRX DX

The prime candidates for these swaps are the Civic Sedan EX AUTO and Civic SI AUTO. They already have MPFI and dont need any wiring changes besides the Dist.

Ive done this swap into my 90 Civic EX...I notice a lot more power too!

iv had an auto gsr tranny laying around ever since my swap was done...so if any of u guys want it ill sell it cheap...it has shorter gearing than say a ls auto tranny...i use to have the ecu to go with it but no longer ...i dont know why everyone is into this manuel tranny fad...hehe
