This is on my 01 EX.

Slave cylinder starts leaking, before I know it the clutch fluid is all gone, and the master and slave cylinder are both blown. Replace them both with new parts, there are no rebuild kits for the 01+ yet. Adjusted the clutch pedal, bled the system according to the service manual directions.

Slave cylinder leaks again, the piston seal in the rubber boot. Replace it with another slave cylinder. This one leaks too. Replace it with yet another slave cylinder. Works just fine... for 2 days. Then the little **** leaks again. By this time, the dealer is getting tired of me returning their crap parts. Each time I replace the parts, the system is bled properly, with no problems.

Other than the leaking, the clutch works just fine. Good shifting, clutch seems to be just fine. No slipping or stuttering while engaging or disengaging. I have the ACT Xtreme pressure plate with street disc, have had for 35k miles. I am using Dot4 brake fluid in the clutch, which the manual says is just fine. Used that for 35k miles as well before all of this crap.

Anyone have any ideas other than Honda's replacement parts (three in a row) are pieces of crap?

is it still under warranty?

did u get in a wreck or anything like that or do anything b4 it started?
do u have any bad motor mounts?

 

Are you sure it's not leaking anywhere else as well. If you had a lemon, replacing the slave cylinder should have fixed it. Maybe the problem lies elsewhere?

Motor mounts are good, car never in a wreck, and the clutch is not leaking anywhere else.

I couldn't think of anything else that would cause this, since the clutch seems to work just fine except for this leaking. I was hoping someone else would think of something that I might be able to check on or try to fix this.

 

Maybe the actual Slave Cylinders needs to be recalled on the 2001+ units? You replaced them 3 times with OEM units and each one failed? Maybe it's a factory defect?

I've talked with the dealers around here and they say that they haven't replaced any 01+ slave clyinders lately, so they don't know if it's a bad production run or what. They're sending me a slave cylinder fresh from the parts factory to see if that is the case or not.
