I don't like the idea of buying someone elses project... u never know what your getting unless u know the person.
I would keep ur ek and just d.i.y.

i was having the same dilemma a few months ago. i went with the ek and have been really happy with it. i think they just look so much better than the eg's imo. just stick with the ek and get a swap and maybe some boost.

imma have to agree with nub-96ek on this 1.. im not really into buyin somebody elses project either.. that takes out have the fun of driving a nice car knownin that u didnt do any of it.. keep ur ek and just swap that... i think ull be much happier drivin somethin u tuned and built i no alot of people that had bad experiences with buyin other peoples projects or junk.. if u think about it.. 80% of the people sellin there cars that have mods done to them are getting rid of them because they no somethin is wrong with it

I dont understand what it is with so many people needing others to make their decisions for them. If 500 people say to get the eg or 500 people say to keep the ek what friggin difference does it make. It would be different if you were asking what were the pros and cons of each so that you could make up your own mind. Sheep being lead arround by sheep. Sorry im not attacking you just venting my own personal pet peve.

OBDII will be a problem especially if you live in a state like I do where they plug right into the ECU at emmisions testing. This really limits what you can tune.

id say sell your ek, buy an eg and swap it, i think egs are nice imo, and you'll have money left over from selling yrou ek

I have an EK as well i would much rather keep the better looking of the two and make my own fast car. and as far as the emissions if u get a b series swap all u need to do is keep an obdII orig ECU to pass emissions as long as there is no engine light then your all good, keep your ek do u really want an older car

Compression and leakdown test will tell the motor's condition. Also, I feel much safer buying a car that has been redlined more often than an 80 year old grandma driving it... you need to clean the engine every now and then.
I've known a guy on local forums for about a year now, and I am going to be buying a b16a EH2 hatch tonight from him... I feel totally comfortable, because I know that he would not screw me over.
