i did a mini me swap swap on my d15 block, i have a new zex nitrous kit i got off a friend. im looking to put a 50 shot on nitrous on my engine, i went to the zex website and they put a 75 on a vtec sohc with stock internals ... whats your opinions on this, do you think it would be safe to run the 50 shot, if not what do you think i would have to upgrade on my motor in order to do this? thanks

 

you need to retard the timing, but it should be fine. Like anything else though you are taking a chance

 

If the timing is right, and everything else is tuned properly, it is as safe as anything else. Good luck.

50 shot is fairly save on your stock motor, I ran a year on my 55 shot ZEX wet kit before I sold it. I took many trips to the track with it. If its not a wet kit make sure you bump up the fuel a bit adjustable FPR,prem gas, run colder plugs like NXSpoon said, check your timming and lastly dont be stupid with it and your motor should last. I had 150,000 miles on the motor when running nitrous and now just changed to boost and still going strong!!!

You could run a 75 shot but if you want your motor to last longer I wouldnt recommend it.
