I need to take my car for emssions this month, but Im not sure if it will pass. I currently have a stock obd1 92b16 on a 99 civic. The car is throwing a knock sensor code. Currently I am running a 99 civic si ecu on it, and the engine light stays on all the time I was wondering what can I do to get rid off the engine light, if I use a obd2- obd1 jumper harness and a stock obd1 ecu, will I able to pass? Is there anyway to bypass the knock sensor code? any info would be appreciated....I tried doing a search, but I coulnt find any info. Here in Chicago all they do is put the sniffer no dyno cause the car is too low. Thanx

p.s all I have is intake header exhaust and hi flow cat.

 

well where i am from you can only put a engine that is the same year as the car or newer. i don't know if they check that, but that in-and-of itself is illegal. Also if you are throwing codes they prolly wont pass you, but i am not to sure. Anyone else?

Im only throwing one code, and thats knock sensor! Im gonna have my boy fix it hopefully this will let me pass...

Do you have visual inspection in your state, and if so, is your gear going to pass that?
