Default Emissions in GA.....

So heres the problem... On my hands I have a 99 civic OBD2B vehicle with a y8 mini swap running a p2p MT OBD2B ecu... I currently do not have a knock sensor... My question is, if I were to convert to OBD1 and run maybe a p28(To avoid the knock sensor problem and for future turbo plans)... Is there anyway I could pass emissions? Would the emissions center run it on the dyno or just turn me away cus the ECU wont respond to thier machine?

Georgia isn't as bad as CA by any means but I HIGHLY doubt they'll accept a OBD1 ECU in a OBD2 car without valid paperwork that makes it a legal swap and that is NOT fun.

If I were you, I would go and eat $25 to test it, be aware of the fact that if you fail you get a free retry within like 30 days or something. Is the lack of knock sensor throwing a code? I thought emissions testing OBD2 cars was a simple knock sensor check?

Yes, the lack of a knock sensor is causing my car to throw 2/3 codes that I believe are... Knock sensor malfunction, and running too rich or too lean. Not sure though... havent checked them for a few months. But bottom of the line, it's throwing a cell. So I guess there's no way to pass being obd1 in an obd2 car?

Weird, I lived in Columbus and never recall having to pass emissions?

emissions in georgia are only for those within so many miles of atlanta, but it's such a BS money grubbing process they circle is expanding as cities like our money.

Isn't it a lot easier to just install a knock sensor than convert to OBD1 anyway?
