Default OBD1 GSR CRX no spark

I used a Boomslang harness. Everything went pretty smooth except that I don't get any spark.

When I turn the key to the off position I get a spark but not when I am trying to start it.

I get fuel.

I tried switching the white wires.

HELP

I am 100% sure that the wires are the way Boomslang wants them.

I am also 100% sure that the two wire do not go together.

when i went to obd1 i had a similar problem. make sure that all colors match up, and try to get someone to push on the wire side of the plug to make sure that all wires are getting good connection with the other plug, i was getting a very weak spark because of those wires not connecting properly.

Your best solution is to call Boomslang, his a nice guy and will help you step by step. Give him a call

I'd check the main relay itself and the wiring.

What distributor are you running?

The wires are hooked up the way that Boomslang's instructions said to. They go color to color. I even striped the harness covering way back and found the wires that are paired off. So I am pretty sure they are correct.

That is my next thing to look at. I found a ignitor and coil test on here and I plan to try that tonight. I may even try a different distributor. I think all the OBD1 B series dizzys are the same except the LS which needs an ear cut off.

Yeah, I thought of that too. I even tried a new dizzy plug on the HF harness.

It's my understanding that if the fuel pump primes then it's not the relay. Is that wrong? The HF engine ran fine till we took it out.

THose instructions are for someone else's OBD0-OBD1 conversion harness. The Boomslang one has you match the colors. Thanks though.

Here's that guy that will probably know what's wrong. I am running an OBD1 GSR distributor that came with the engine. It is unknown if it is good though. The car the engine came out of was wrecked and the guy who wrecked it was supposed to have driven it for a while after the wreck. If you are looking for the number on the dizzy, I'll have to check.

hey I have a Boomslang harness for my swap and my instructions for the distributor were not color to color. I did my swap less than 3 months ago so the instructions were current. I would hit up Rustin and have him e-mail another set of the wiring instructions to be sure.

I just got it new from the website Tuesday. The instructions were pretty clear. I'll check them again though.
