Question About Going Turbo
I saw an ad on this site that talked about going turbo for a small amount of money. They said for $70 you get this kit you install that takes 5 minutes. Is it worthwhile? I have an older Integra and not looking to drop $1-2 K like many of you GSR people, so would this be a reasonable compromise? WOuld I be risking any engine damage? Thanks.

PS. I am not spamming anybody, just wondering if this is any good. 35 HP for $70 doesn't sound too bad plus you get 25% fuel economy gain which helps these days.
Let me know.

alrite....that **** is a rip off
dont waste your money on that....think of the theory behind and think if you can actually gain the amount of power you would from a true turbine setup
2hp at max with the "turbonator" 100+hp...if tuned well with a simple bolt on turbo kit from drag or something of the sort
that thing is a waste....

Thanks for your thoughts.
I wonder why they let them advertise it at this site if it is just a ripoff, though. OK, what is the cheapest way a poor man can go turbo and how much? Thanks again.

hmm...weird question
well....i go by a moto "you get what you pay for" ...but thats not to say the job can't be done well with limited funds...because its been done before
id start by setting a goal of what you want to attain with the kit...then research turbo systems...how they work..what you need to have to make a turbo system work on your car...if your car can accept a turbo system with its current status...etc.....
http://www.howstuffworks.com has a great little compilation of pages on the topic
then id say start seraching on turbo types and other parts neccesarry for making a turbo system work and ask for advice from people
once you got everything set...make a list of parts you want to incorporate that will you assist you in attaining your goal
then...check out cheapturbo.com and ebay....and go from there
good luck
DONT FORGET TUNING!

yehiknowrite, thank you for the information.
Well, to tell you the truth I am fairly happy with the acceleration of my Integra. When I bought it, it was kinda slow, but after tuning it up and advancing the timing I am pleased. I have no problems passing 2-3 cars at a time with this car on secondary roads which pleases me and I coul dnot do before with my other car. I just happened to click on that advertisement for turbo and I was surprised to see that it was so inexpensive ($70) and that I could also get 25% better fuel economy, so I started thinking for that small sum of money it would be a good investment. But I guess I'm not sure if I want to pay a lot since I have an old Integra, not a GSR or ITR. Still fast though the way I have it tuned, but I would like better fuel economy (currently 30 MPG) and a tiny bit more power would be fine too. That is my perspective. I guess it is somewhat different than most people who are willing to pay the max and are only looking for peak HP increase with turbo.

What does the grounding system cost? If not to much I will definitely consider it.
Well, as far as the turbonator goes, I am suspicious, but curious. If it really delivers what they say I would be happy (35 HP increase and 25% improved fuel economy). They offer a 30 day money back gaurantee so maybe I should try.

I remember seeing a link about a grounding kit made from wire at Home Depot. I'd like to try this because Home Depot is near me and I have limited funds right now. I wonder where I would go to get the plan to buld the grounding kit. I wish I could remember where that link was abouthe Home Depot grounding kit.

It doesn't spin at all. It just nudges the air into a "swirl" pattern. It is a rip off. The only reason you improove gas milage is because it turns agressive drivers into pansies, because they expect to see gains.
