Default Transmission Help (manual)

i have a 92 cx with a d15b 16v ... the engine and transmission were swapped in after the previous owner got into an accident ... the problem im having with the tranny started yesterday when i was driving through town i went to downshift into 2nd and it sounded like the clutch wasnt in all the way which it was and made a loud sound from the tranny ... i didnt think much of it so i continued driving and it wouldnt let me downshift to 2nd or 1st till i shut the car off for a few mins ... after i did that the car runs fine ... the transmission actually shifts better ... every gear is fine but the problem is oil seems to be coming from the bottom of the bell housing where you can see the flywheel .... oil comes out pretty good when the engines hot when its cold i leaks about half what it does when its warm ... someone suggested the seal on the input shaft? ... any other suggestions?

Could be input shaft seal I suppose. Did you check the slave cylinder for the clutch fluid that attaches to the front of the tranny? Check this also. This is what uses hydraulic pressure to release the clutch...in a roundabout way.

find out what fluid that is. If its brake fluid, then its your clutch cylinder. If the pedal feels mushy then thats probably what it is. If you have to get around with the car before its fixed, then just add brake fluid to the clutch reservoir, located in back near the brake reservoir. I drove around on a broken slave cylinder in my land cruiser for about 3 weeks; I just kept brake fluid in the car and added every once in a while.
