i threw a cell for that sensor after i completed my swap....turns out i had a broken wire; soldered it back together and cel went away. i would say that if you're getting a code (which you didn't mention) that you have a complete break in the line, something wrong with wiring, or the unit is just completely bad. ecu may be trying to compensate by adding extra fuel; does it smell rich, any idling problems....are you having any strange symptoms since the light went on?

This guys right on...the ecu wants to run rich when cold and if that sensor isn't working it just dumps as a safety...usually resulting in a lopey/oscillating idle.

It's an easy sensor to replace only drain some coolant from bottom of RAD and remove sensor with appropriate socket/wrench...then replace, fill up coolant.

But once again like stated above check your connections first...multimeters work wonders, audible continuity feature

First i would try resetting your ECU...pull the hazard fuse from under hood for 10 seconds. Then restart car and let idle...let us know if you still have the code.

If so then it's your wiring...like i said use some sort of multimeter to check continuity making sure there are no breaks/shorts in wires.

I had this code and replaced the sensor. Still had the code. I looked at my obd0-obd1 harness that I made myself, and it was the one wire I forgot to hook up
Check the connections first. Thats usually where the problem lies.

Oh and I wouldnt worry about driving with that code on. I probably drove 200 miles with it on before I figured out the problem. Mine ran fine though. No bogging or anything and I still got 27mpg on the freeway.
