where can i find a replacement catalytic converter?
My rear bumper is starting to get discolored on my 99ex and i have i gutted cat. i want to put a Replacement Cat, not a high flow or straight thru design, back on the car to keep the discoloration from building up on the rear bumper. is autozone, advance, or napa the best place to go.
Discolored, as you get black dust?
A cat will only make less black dust, a gutted car will make more. No, it wont eliminate it.

most salvage yards around here are not allowed to sell catalyctic converters that have been used.

it just depends on which junkyards you go to. california law says once its used you cant put in on another car, junkyards are suppose to drill holes in them to prevent them from selling it. but most junkyards will sell it but wont provide a receipt for the transaction.

I got a brand new Carsound cat online with an o2 bung for $70 including shipping. But the company was kind of sketchy.
It was over a week after the confirmation email was sent and no delivery email. I tried to call them and only got a recording with no call back, and their customer service email address was sending my emails back. I replied to the address that was sent in the order confirmation, and magically the next day, I had a tracking #. But $70 for a brand new Carsound is not too bad. If you want to roll the dice the company is performace-curve.com

carsound, catco, OEM second hand, SMSP are just a few names that offer custom and or OEM like catalytic converters. I would shop online for it. Good luck.
