hey, i have a set of these in 16x7 sitting at discount tire for me. i had a set in 15x7 before. the one way you could tell visually if you had the forged wheels was that they had 5Zigen engraved on the wheel. the cast FN01R-C had a decal. these wheels have no decal nor any engraving. anyone know what is up? im still waiting on an email from 5 zigen. i do know they are forged they are way to lite to be cast.

 

I know that one has a casting line in the middle of the sides of the spokes...but I forget if it was the forged or cast version. I tried searching but could find the answer

 

forged had 5zigen engraved in the middle of one of the spokes, the cast wheel had a decal or was painted. the newer cast wheels say FN01R-C, mine have nothing.

Built2Spill used to have them on his old EG hatch and then he had them on his newer EK. You could try Pming him and see if he knows, because I sure don't.

 

just like was said before look for casting flak. u can see its, its just like when u look into a head and u see its not all smooth it looks like little mountains in the cylinder head. it the same on the wheel between the spoked i have some R-c's at home i'll try and post a pic when i can get to it...or get a coat hanget and wrap it around one hang it from something and tap it with a screw driver and it will ring and hold the ring for ahwile. thats what u do with a crankshaft except when u do it with ur wheel it wont last as long cause its not steel. cast will just ping.

 

how much did you pay for them , thats one way to tell..

 

the box say forged, and i paid $380 per wheel. 16x7 5x114.3

i did. i know they are forged. i just don't get why they dont have the 5Zigen engraved in them, like my last set, and the few people i knew who also had them.

truthfully im actually quite happy they have nothing on them at all. people will think they are some kind of knock off. when i had a set of 15's on my 90 si, people always asked if they were rota slips. i said yeah, just so they wouldn't sweat them.

 

Actually VtecVoodoo's forged FN01R-F or whatever had the 5zigen engraving on the spoke.. Hm.. Maybe you should ask for another set?

 

i believe the holes in the cter of the wheel are differnt as well, if u still havent figured it out, when i get home in a week ill check mine, they are the 15's
