Default 2005 Honda Civic....BEST INTAKE

I have a 2005 Honda Civic HX with the 1.7 Vtec engine in it. What is the best intake for the money that will sound good and perform well. I was thinking about going with a AEM COld air. I have one on my 93 accord and it sounds great but what other options do i have b/c the intake is 300 bucks plus shipping.

there is no best intake because everyone has a different opinion but AEM has always provided with good products. Injen is also pretty good. I've installed both of these in about 15-20 different types of cars. But one thing for sure, always stick to the big name brands like AEM or Injen.

to me intake is intake... big piping, and a good filter will do the trick but name brands would be the best bet

Isn't an HX the super-fuel economy Civic? Why put an intake on it?

Nothing does anything. The best I've found is retrofitting a DC2 box into the car.... it atleast gave me a little low end.

The 7thGen 1.7 engine is a complete waste of time to spend money on as far as your basic boltons go!! The intake kills what little low end you have. The only thing this engine really responds well to is BOOST. I'm serious about this one. Check out http://www.7thGenCivic.com These guys know their stuff.

it's based off the D16, correct? those have had moderate success with turbo.
i've considered a turbo D16 for my next project (EE civic wagon 4wd).

a civic is pretty much a waste of time to spend money on with basic boltons.
