Possible IACV problem, not sure... I'm starting to think it's a clutch thing
It was raining last night. I had to fight hydroplaning like crazy on the freeway. Anyway I stopped to get some Messican food with some buddies. When I started the car up to go home, I noticed the idle went from about 500-1000, like back and forth. It felt like the car was gonna stall out, so I gave it some gas whenever it dipped below 1000. Even when I was getting on the freeway I felt the rpms just barely dipping for a moment then jump back up. It was fine after about 15 minutes though. My idle was fine when I got home.
My car is pretty much stock except for a K&N filter in the airbox and a custom cold air extension. I don't think water could've gotten in though. The filter is way up in the stock airbox.
Could it be a bad IACV?
It stopped doing the idle thing today. It hesitates when I drive though. Like if I start from a stop in 1st gear, it would hesitate around 3000rpm and stay there for a while before going up some more. I'm starting to think it may be a clutch problem. It's as if the clutch was slipping between 3000-4000rpm.
Help... I'm starting a new job soon and won't have time to fix this. I might have to just break down and take it to a shop.
