Default Legend caliper upgrade on 4th Gen

I know this is an old topic, but i've been searching for a while on here and still have a couple more questions.

Is it worth it to do all 4 calipers, or just the front. I think the rear calipers on the legend are just single piston anyway. And the model of legend I need would be the 94/95 LS?

And since i'm from the wonderful redneck state of kentucky, our junkyards don't have many foreign cars. I've only found 6 junked preludes in all of Louisville. So i need somewhere other than the dealer to get my Vtec rotors and Legend Calipers.

And in case anyone wants to know, I have to get new calipers anyway and i'd rather not replace, i'd rather upgrade.

Don't worry about upgrading the rears, mine aren't even hooked up right now and there's hardely any difference in braking. I mean, I'm not autocrossing or anything, but I can't tell on the street.

The situation that brought on this upgrade was the fact that my rear pads are worn down. So I take off the caliper, replace the pad, and when i tried to tighten the piston back down I found it impossible on the driver side.

So i took the piston all the way out and found that it was very very badly rusted, to the point where the piston would not go back into the caliper. Now i've gotten the rust off the piston for now and can't get it to go back into the caliper. Even if it does, I'm looking at replacing the caliper anyway because it is a big rusty mess. During my engine rebuild my car sat for about 4 months without being moved. Ever since then my brake system has been f***ed up.

When i started my car after 4 months the rear wheels were completely locked up. It may just be better for me to replace everything back there.

You know you have to screw in the rear calipers, not push them, right?

yeah, the passenger side screwed in with no problem. The driver side was siezed. I barely got it to come out at all. It had about an 1/8" of rust build up. It was pretty bad.

I bought VTEC rotors from Carquest for 23.99 a piece, and advance auto had loaded legend calipers for 59.99 a piece. this might be cheaper and easier in the long run. Advance has lifetime guarantee with their calipers as well.

did they accept the prelude calipers as a core, or did you have to pay for it?

Is that OEM Acura calipers or aftermarket?

i just did this upgrade on my 4th gen.....

you need a loaded caliper from a 94-95 Legend GS model....

vtec prelude rotors, and legend brake pads....and you have to make a spacer to hold the pads in...
