it will fit if you get a gsr or type r ring gear. the b16 ring gear offset and bolt pattern is different. I have a couple of those trannies for sale.

Chad, It doesn't work. Two options: Get the cusco or quaife or rebuild the tranny with all Type R internals.

If you get the complete 4.7fd kit it will include the ring gear you need in order to fit an ITR LSD into your Si tranny. All you need then, is the ITR LSD and all will drop into place perfectly into your Si tranny.

yes, BUT, the 4.40 ring gear needs to be of GSR or ITR spec because the 92-01 B16A 4.40 ring gear is too small in diameter to mate up with an ITR/CTR LSD.

yes this is true....you CAN NOT use a b16 diff gear with ITR LSD OR GSR DIFF!

Will a OEM JDM 4.785 Final Drive kit fit right into a 99 SI tranny, or will I need a GSR/ITR differential to make it work?

Or what do I need to make it work?

Thanks..

...your Q was already answered if you read the replies. YES a 4.7FD will work in an Si tranny, but you have to use a GSR/LS diff or ITR LSD. The Si diff isn't compatible with the 4.7 ring gear as its too small in diameter (the diff mounting holes will not line up to the 4.7 ring gears mounting holes).

to reitterate what katman has said

4.785 JDM final drive will work in any hydro b series tranny....as long as you have countershaft 1st gear needle bearings diff gear ring and countershaft collar, AND A GSR DIFF OR A TYPE R DIFF.....katman says an LS will work, i myself have never tried an ls so i do not know first hand but WOULD TAKE KATMANS WORD THAT IT WILL WORK!!!!

and yes in a b16, ls or gsr or type r tranny this is a GREAT UPGRADE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
