Default Question on mini me swap

I"m doing a mini me swap in a 91 civic. It's a built A6 block from a 91 si and a Y8 head. The A6 bock doesn't have a knock sensor,so what should i do in order to run the Vtec?I have the conversion harness for obd 0-obd 1 in order to run the p28,but will i be better off with a ls ecu and a rpm switch.

Getting a Vtec ecu is not a problem.I'm tring to find out if it will be ok to run the p28 with out a knock sensor,or go with a rpm switch.
