I'm doing some gauge fabrication, looking for the best way to cut ABS plastic. Simple question I'm sure. Any suggestions??

 

dremel cut off wheel for straight cuts. Use the highest RPM and go very slowly, make hashed cuts first along the to-be-cut area. Also use both hands to hold it still.

This is a minimal mess approach.

For rounded shapes, like guages, cut the square out first, then go back with the sanding bit and sand down the very last pieces to the shape needed.

Dremels are amazing. ACE Hardware has a sale on the 7.2 cordless for $35, comes with 52 accessorie pieces.

Great buy for the tool.

a dremel is ur friend.. u could do light port matching with it if u'd like.. u could use it to polish ur wheels.. and kragen got a dremel set for 7 bucks gotta pick one up for myself

 

Its a must have tool for DIY car mods. It can get in into tight areas and can use vitually any tool.

-I used it to cut the bolts of my exhaust when I did that.

-Used it to drill small holes for wiring.

-Used it to polish my valve cover

-Used it to grind down small pieces for fitment.

-Used it to sheetrock my porch, cutting outlet holes.

I personally like the corded ones because they have more power and variability. You can get those for $50-60 with some great features. Definatly a great holiday gift.

 

How long did your valve cover take? Sounds like a great idea
