how to get rid of that squelling noise

my civic has been squeeling for some time now and just recently the check engine light came on and my gauges started to go crazy when ever i would press the accelerator.Also my lights in and out dim to the beat of techno music. Im a real big "do it yourself" guy , so simple detailed instructions along with a few pics would really help me out.

Stock airbox? If so just evict the mice that have made it their home, LOL. Just kidding, yeah change the alt belt and pull the code. I highly doubt the CEL has anything to do with the squeel.
