Default How much Tuning helps on all motor?

i recently raced my freinds 350z on top end ... i know i dust him on low end but ... i hang with him about half a car on top end... untune ... and i have stage 3 crower Head built with port polish and sleeved bottom 2.0L wth 12 to 1 compression with stock ignition ... If i tune my car ? how much would it help out ? any answer will help ...and i dont' wanna pay 300 and go to dallas from oklahoma to beat the 350z only 1 car... maybe 3-5 cars , i would go down there haha Thanks

P.S I heard ignition makes a big difference on all motor ? is that true? if soo what should i get? all together?

Tuning makes a significant difference. I know a guy up here who made 17 whp when he had his Type r motor tuned with hondata. Furthermore, considering you are a 2.0L bottom end with a stage 3 crower head, you should be walkin on a 350z, on the botton AND the top end!! When I had my gsr w/ minor bolts on in my eg, I raced 350z and we were pretty much dead even! So get the **** tuned!

Should of been an easy kill. I am dead even with some 350z's with good drivers and others I pull.

To be honest with you it really depends on the setup & the "untuned" factors.

Some setups won't gain a lot of peak numbers from tuning, primarely midrange whp from cam timing adjustments etc.

Then again, I have seen some setups make a lot of peak power due to them comming in to the dyno running extremely lean & having jacked up base timing etc...

yes, ive seen tons of cars go on the dyno before tuning and leave with 15 + hp and 15 + torque...
