Default AEM Intake Issue

I have a 98 GSR with an AEM Cold Air Kit installed. I have noticed that I have an issue with the intake rubbing on the a/c line. The a/c low pressure return line and the cold air piping is rubbing a hole in the a/c line and the a/c line is rubbing a hole in my intake piping.

My question is this: Is other HT people having (or had) this issue? If there a fix for this issue, or did someone sell me the wrong kit?

I looked on the archives and couldn't find anything.

I had the same issue, but I ended up selling the intake, cutting out my passenger side high beam light and running a custom ram air setup. I didn't have the problem anymore.

I was hoping that there was another option than get rid of it and create a custom intake. I like the AEM, but that might be my option, I don't want to get holes in my a/c lines.

I never had that problem, although I heard about it. My intake piping made contact with the a/c line, but did not wear a hole in it. I would try putting washers/spacers on the brackets that attach the intake arm to the car. By moving the mounting point a bit higher, you may be able to avoid or lessen the rubbing. I would try to loosen up some of the brackets and clamps and reposition them as much as possible before giving up - good luck!
