crazy start up idle ??
in the cold... damn chicago weather i start my car to watch it rev up to about 2500 rpm and just chills there for about 5 minutes before nearly dying as it drops under regular idle speed... 800+,- than rockets back to 2 grand just to chill there for another 2 minutes. hrrmmmm i think this has to do with the shitty broke *** O2 sensor in open loop or possibly even a combo bettween my TPS and IAC if anyone agrees give me some feedback
i kind of have the same problem as you, mine has been going on for about 3 months now. It starts off at about 2000 and goes down to about 1000 at warm up. some times when i'm lucky it goes down to 750. Then when i drive it, it goes up to about 1000-1800 and it keeps going up and down like that when i get to a stop.
When I first bought my Teg (used), it had this wicked idle problem where it would start up and go to about 2K-2.5K and bounce back and fourth from that to about 1K. When I say bounce, I mean bounce once a second!! We tried and tried and tired to diagnose it but the only thing that helped was changing the Idle Control Valve. It still happened once in a while whenever I would work on the electrical system. Seems like it would jolt the computer or something. The high idle at cold start seems normal for the Tegs though. I drove a 2000 LS and it did the same thing (minus the fluctuation).
yea when u said idle control valve were u refering to the IAC, also i wanna thank u guys alot fore helping me out cause seems like u guys are having the same problem and are also feeling my pain... keep me updated if u got a cure to this madness
