Okay, so my car has almost half a tank, and i try to start it, it turns over but dies right away, new battery, and it started this morning and it wasnt plugged in, so i dont think the cold has anything to do with it. The only time this happened was when my car was low on fuel and the problem was corrected when i added gas. Any ideas?

how can i find out if its the fuel filter or the fuel pump?

 

turn the key to the on position. you should hear a whirr noise behind the drivers seat under the back seat. that's the fuel pump priming pressure to the fuel system. if you don't hear it than it's gone bad. the fuel filter i would just go ahead and replace. they are cheap. it's in the engine bay on the firewall.

 

i have an extra fuel pump from my 92 civic, can i use that on my 91?

 

its warmer, so we towed my car to my friends heated garage, and now it starts!! frozen fuel line? how can this be prevented?

 

wait did u check ur main relay
that can go bad too and could be the reason

 

no, i havent checked the main relay, i have heard about these problems, how do i know if there is something wrong with it?
