Default Buddy Club Pro Spec :Review:

This Review is of the Muffler ONLY, not the full stainless exhaust system.

This muffler was bought from a Sponsor here on honda-tech.
I came back from lunch here at work and look what was waiting for me.

Fresh out of the box.

Compared to the Apexi N1, this thing looks PERFECT. The N1 was a little to large, and a little to shinny. Shinny metal exhausts = attention from cops.

The inside is SLIGHTLY baffled, but not nearly as much as the N1.

And this is the piping Inlet. Its not a true 2.5, oh well.

The muffler will be installed today along with some Fresh piping. I was considering going FULL stainless but i couldn't quite justify spending the extra cash on something that works just as well as aluminized steel. This whole thing also came with the silencer and a hanger type device which slips around the outside of the canister.

Also, it weighs in right about 9 lbs where the N1 was about 16.

If that muffler on the right is the buddy club one, it looks a lot like my invidia muffler. looks good. How many HP are you expecting from this?

I had switched to a Magnaflow muffler rattle canned black to avoid the police attention, but it really killed my power up top with all the jun stuff. This is to just let the system breathe again without the GIANT N1

Yeh me too, One of the "Prelude" forum admins should make a thread thats just for exhaust sound clips..that would help keep the repeating threads down.

but anyway, nice review 98TypeSH.. it looks good man, good luck with it.

i would venture to say its about twice as loud as the N1. lol i got it for 135 i think or maybe 139. Maybe if i throw another resonator on there it will tone it a down a bit, but ****. Currently i have my back seats out because i had to vacume pine needles and **** out from my xmas tree (stuffed an 8foot tree in my truck/backseat area with seats still in) So it echos from the trunk then with the window open it bounces off walls and cars. i havent even hit vtec yet, this is the 2000-4000 rpm level and im deaf. lol

wow dude that sucks about the sound...I have adjusted to the sound of my n1 w/ no cat and no resonator and always thought that was loud but I cant imagine how loud yours is...

How did your car sound with the magnaflow resonator? Did it take the buzzing sound out from the test pipe? the like high pitched sound that is so deafening in vtec. Im looking to get a resonator but dont want to give up any power really either..do you think you lost power? Thanks

the magnaflow resonator took all the buzz out, its sounded pretty dern good. I figure if i get twice the legenth, or just install another it will tone it down a little

i got my magnaflow resonator thru my local muffler shop which happens to be a magnaflow reseller. Im going to say it was about 40-45 bucks. Its about 4 inches around, this thing is massive. Maybe ill just buy the 20inch or somethin lol. And good luck with the full exhaust TypeR. This thing is quite loud. Im gonna leave it on till im harassed or till i get another resonator. My previous stealth muffler robbed me for topend.

yea that looks like it. They just cut out a midsection and welded that sucker up. N1 piping is 2.5 i believe.

Getting on the freeway after work i just about **** my pants. it was the loudest thing i have EVER heard short or standing behind an F15 taking off.

Guess you've never launched an R with an open header at 8,000 rpm with a VTEC controller so that you are actually on the hot part of the cam ..........

Now THAT is loud as ****!! But so beautiful a sound ..........

the n1 piping is 60mm which comes out 2 and 3/8 inch....so just a pube short of 2.4.....

my friend has the regular n1 system on his h22 with a resonated cat and stock header and his is way more buzzy and a bit louder than my ApexI GT Spec with a hollowed cat and stock header........

but were both about to experience some new sounds......hes putting on (after christmas) his prospeed merge with 2.5 all the way back to the start of the n1 b-pipe.....and im putting on (at the same time) my greddy with 2.5 collector all the way back the the GT Spec b pipe.....

so we will se how that sounds and get a good comparison....the prospeed setup should be similar to yours....you do still have the prospeed right??

It looks nicer than the n1 IMO, well at least as far as the cops are concerned. But how was the butt dyno?

By the way where are you in OC 98typesh?
