Does your check engine light come on when the oil is low?
The check engine light came on yesterday in the RSX. I couldn't think of what it might be so I checked the fluids and the oil was a quart low. I did change the oil a week ago and can't remember how many quarts I put in...I was in a hurry...(you shouldn't do things to your car when your in a hurry). So, I reset the ECU and the light hasn't come back on...So, has this happened to anybody else or should I take it in to get looked at?
TIA

yeah, its stock. I know on the b series ecus you could run a jumper and the cel would blink the code but do DC5s?
I don't think the CEL would come on with low oil. The oil dummy light would, but a quart low wouldn't set it off. It must have been something else.
If it comes back on... http://home.comcast.net/~rsxmachine/info/CEL/

If it is stock, why not take it back to thew dealership?

New STOCK car, take it to the dealership and use that damn warranty that most of us dont have.
<-- Without a warranty since 51k miles and had the extended warranty. hehe

it might be just a loose gas cap...if you just reset the ECU, it might not come back on right away but eventually it will
Warranty has expired
Its an '02 and used and the original owner didn't get any kind of extended warranty. The CEL hasn't come back on but thanks for the link to show me how to read it next time.
THanks for the help everyone.

it depends......the check engine light COULD come on due to "low oil." mine in my 02 si did. heres why.......since vtec runs off of oil pressure, and if you dont have enough oil to get the correct oil pres......the check engine light could come on due to a faulty vtec pres switch code. mine did the second day after i bought the car. took it back honda ran the diag and it came up with vtec pres switch failure. they were about to order the swithc, when the mechanic checked the oil. it was 2 quarts low, he filled it up reset the ecu and poof no more codes. then he turns to me and asks why i didnt check the oil, i was like yo ******* isnt that YOUR job the car has freakin 22 miles on it for gods sake the oil was the last thing on my mind.
LOL, I haven't seen the check engine light again so I think its good. Gotta love factory mechanics.
