Default B16 code 21 and 23

My OBD0 ecu is giving me a code 23 and 21 (I bought the car with the check engine light on) i know that 21 is the spool valve and 23 is the knock sensor. I have seen the pics from the shop manual but they are hard to understand. Does anybody have a good explination/pics on how to fix this? Is anyone willing to help me in the Cleveland, Ohio area.

Thanx guys, since i have joined the forum you have been loads of help!

being it is both codes that are affected by motor swaps, its probably in the wiring

go throught the pin outs and trace the wires? check connections thought first. it could be something as stupis as the plug not being all the way on. also reset the ecu and fire the car up again to make these are not old codes. they could have been saved from previous problems. hard to say when you buy someone elses work

Check for cuntinuity between the pins on the plugs under the hood and the appropriate pins on the ECU plugs. The easiest way to do this is to stick a long piece of wire into the underhood pin and run it into the car. Check for cuntinuity with a test light or VOM.
