Default IACV questions

well, soo far, i have almost everything hooked up again on my infamous ITB y8 motor. The last thing that stands in my way now is the IACV. My buddy who helped me last time came up with an idea to make some kind of blockoff with an opening to run a vacuum source to it...............im asking u guys to see if it would work.................gonna be cheap to make soo this is why we are trying it out................

You should get one of those Golden Eagle vacuum manifolds that has all the ports on it. Make a plate that mounts the IACV on it and has 2 ports for the air inlet/outlet. the inlet side can just go off to the side and maybe use a little breather filter on it, then connect the outlet to the GE vac manifold. Run small hoses from the vac manifold to each of the ITB's...
Just an idea...

k. which side is the inlet and which is the outlet??? one hole has some type of cover on it that looks like a screen and the other side is open................which one should i cover with the breather and im guessing the other one should be sectioned off to a source of vacuum???

I think the screen part is the inlet side (draws air from anywhere in front of the itb's or manifold...). Well, if you're looking at the holes, with the coolant nipples pointed down, the one on the left is the inlet, the one on the right is the outlet (goes to the manifold or itb's).
