Default H22a oil pump gear question

Rumor has it that the oil pump gear breaks quite often under boost. Has this occured to anyone, is this widely known in the prelude community?

Just trying to get some facts straight

They break from time to time, but not in plague proportions. It usually has nothing to do with boost. The popular theories are high rpm and/or not running a harmonic damper. I had one die from ingesting a small hunk of metal. I suspect sabotage by the stealership... anyway, prodrive makes a replacement gearset if you are worried about it.

I know prodrive makes one, but is this a thing I should be worried about, or does this only happen once in a blue moon with a major turbo setup?

I'd say it's more likely to break under high rpm use...I can't see what turbo has to do with the oil pump specifically...
