Knock Sensor circuit malfunction -
1. Open or short in the Knock Sensor circuit
2. Knock Sensor
3. ECM
1. Do the ECM reset procedure.
a. Start the engine. Hold engine at 3,000 rpm in neutral in no load, until the
radiator fans comes on, then let ie idle.
b. Hold engine engine at 3,000 - 4000 for 10 seconds.
Does it still throw code 23?
If no - check for poor connecttions or loose wires between KS and ECM.
If Yes - Check for shorts in the KS wires. Turn igntion off, disconnect KS, check for contunuity between ECM termails D6 and body ground.
E-mail me if you want more info. I'll scan the page and send it to you. I'm too lazy to type all this trouble shooting info out.
