Default Compatibility of a Y8 into an EG?

Sorry for the newbie question, I just totalled my EK this past friday and I found an EG shell with no motor and tranny. I was wondering if the motor mounts were the same and the motor was a straight swap in...

BTW, i couldn't find anything about this after searching...

Any input?

since the host of the motor is a 92, does that mean I could run a OBD1 ecu and a VTEC controller?
That is, with the conversion harness...

your host car is a obd-1 car already, so get a obd-1 ecu to run it, obd-1 is way nicer when you want to mod the car. and you don't need a vtec controller. and about the mounts, the ek has different mounts than the 92. search on that a little.
edit: also, it ill be cool to run a obd-1 ecu, cause then it will only look for obd-1 stuff, so not CRANK sensor is needed, and only one o2 sensor is needed. you won't get a cel as much then. let me know how it goes.

I've searched and I can't find any information on the motor mounts compatibility. Would I need custom mounts to mount the motor, ek mounts, or eg mounts?

You may need a custom front top mount for the tranny. check place racing, i think they have one

you need eg mounts. the mounts you need are the drivers side upper mount, with bracket(you have to take off the plastic cover to put the eg bracket on) and you need a different rear mount i think. the other mounts should be the same. its just a matter of finding the right wire harness to run the motor.
