Default Big cams in a b16

Would it be a good idea to run some buddy club 3 or skunk 2 stage 2 or blox cams in my first gen b16 with the stock compression. I am running an 01 itr intake cam now with skunk 2 valve train and type r retainers so the valve train isnt a problem.

The skunk2 stage 2's would be too wild for stock compression. Buddy club's would be okay though.

As long as you clay check the piston valve relief cut outs on the pistons to make sure the cam lobes are not to big that the valve does not smack the piston.

I don't think you'll have a problem with the skunks. I ran a set of Crane Stage III's on my (basically) stock B16a EF. What your gonna loose by running the "big" cams are the very little torque you had.

It gave me NASTY top end thou

Try a Stage 1 or Toda Spec A (kinda pricy!!)
