Question about getting new breaks
hi i want to get new breaks for my 1991 honda del sol. my dad says that the ones with the holes are better than doing a shitty gsr brake swap. my dad knows everything but i want to get your guys opinions.
The ones with holes? haha. The shitty GSR brake swap will greatly improve braking distance since the rotors are bigger and the caliper piston are larger.
hahahah well first off its brakes not breaks, sec, i believe those rotors with the holes are called cross drilled and slotted rotors.. whats wrong with a gsr swap? im 100% sure there better then the brake pads u have on there now lol..
and if ur dad knows everything, he would no like that one thread said, the gsr brake swap will greatly improve ur breaking distance due to the bigger caliper pins and the bigger rotors

GSR brakes with good pads and fluid will be more than enough for you. Upgrading to "holy" rotors (which are called cross drilled BTW), won't help you a damn bit. All they do is tear up pads and actually tend to crack if they are indeed drilled instead of cast with holes in them.
since you have that username, i guess you drive a 95 VTEC model. those already come with gsr brakes, so just get some good pads and ss braided lines. if your rotor are bad, change them out for some brembo blanks. thatll be plenty of braking for you.
umm 95 vtech ? haha.. from what ive learned about this site, honda-tech is a forum here to help people who have questions.. so far its been an excellent source for myself and im sure theres about 10000000000 honda tuners that are registered here.. if u want to use this for help thats fine.. but take ur my dads in the fbi crap out of here caz im sure noone cares.. im 100% sure ht didnt change ur post to 91 just to make u look like an idiot i believe u did that on ur own...
i had slotted and cross drilled rotors and axxis pads on my stock 9.5inch pos brakes
cooked them way too many times hard driving.
now i got gsr brake swap in front with axxis pads and they stop so much better.
havent cooked them yet either

OK man, you must be a pathological liar. When you first started Honda Tech, you had an Integra Type R (in which you wanted to swap in H22). A couple weeks later, you had a Prelude VTEC. After that, you had a 240SX in which you wanted to swap in a Honda engine to make it FWD. And now you have a Del Sol that needs GSR breaks.
Is the flavor of December an NSX-R? Good Lord.
You are the epitome of a ****-head ricer.

...theyre integra brakes
gsr=ls=rs
Theyre a good upgrade
depending on your model (del sol S) you will need knuckles from a civic ex/em1/del sol si/vtec/integra
"rotors with holes"

your dad does not know everything
those "holes" weaken the overall strength of the rotor and do NOTHING for aditional braking. you want good brakes? good pads, good fluid, new STOCK BLANK rotors. should cost you 200$ for everything and you will never need anything else.
P.S. theres no H in vtec.

drilled or slotted rotors dont do **** to help you stop, they are put there to dissipate heat under heavy braking. And yes the Gsr brake swap would be far more superior.
