Back End Rattle
Something is rattling from my back end suspension area.. not sure what it is.. its not coming from the shock, spring, brake caliper.. Just wondering if anyone has had the same problem.. it only makes noise when going over bumps.
ya definitely not the hatch..i fixed that.. heat sheild no.. it sounds like its coming from the rear drivers side..something to do with suspension.... an arm or something loose or bushing gone.... i dont know..
do you have colilovers? if so it could be them...especailly if your car us dumped and the piece that spins is loose, it will "rattle" like you said..but if not good luck finding out...
check your res. i had a rattle once from the rear and ended up replacing my res, the baffle took a **** on me and was rattling pretty bad, but your rattle doesnt seem that severe.

if its that metal on metal soundin rattle/clank coming from the truck latch put a LITTLE bit of electrical tape around it. dont get tape happy or else you wont be able to open and close it anymore. woops.
try to keep wrinkles out.
hope that helped.

If it doesn't make noise when you are cornering but does when you are going straight then it is probably the endlinks.
I pulled the spare and the cardboard piece out of the back, pulled back the carpet back and sat back there with my ear down on the floor while my brother drove around. I marked where the noise was coming from with a pencil and used that as a reference to find what suspension piece on the other side was closest.

My 97 gsr had the same problem but only after i installd an exhaust. I found out that one of the hangers slipped off and it was alowing (sp?) the exhaust to hit/rattle against some of the chassis. scared the hell out of me, i thought i broke something. Just something to check out. good luck
