Default separating tranny from block - 2000 si

I have a 2000 Si and I pulled my motor/tranny. I want to send the block to the machine shop but first I have to remove the tranny and strip it down. However I am unable to separate the tranny from the block. I have done this before to change a clutch, but the motor was still in the car.

Can someone please give me a tip on how to do this with the motor out of the car already?

Thanks !!!

Grab a friend and he holds the engine, you hold the tranny and you wiggle and pull. Also try using a flat head screwdriver and pry it apart. It should come out. Some are harder than others

don't forget the three bolts under the trans 2 are 12mm the other I think is a 10

also do'nt forget the starter also has one long bolt that goes through the trans and into the block

also, just thought i'd share a pic of my ORIGINAL clutch, after 172,000+ miles. Still got a little grip not much, but I have seen much worse with much fewer miles....
