Default D16 Needs Help!

Hey guys whats up, im drivin a stock d16, and i need to pump up the hp in it but a swap is out of the question, i was thinking about maybe putting in a turbo, and a nos system, but what do i need to do internally to get the most out of my engine, and make it strong enough to put some boost into it? Any input would help, thankyou.

its all in the tuning, you can get the most out of it if you have spark and fuel management. so its up to you on how much you want to spend.

You'll be fine with a 50 shot dry on a stock engine, but you might want to get a step colder plugs or retard your timing a couple degrees just to be safe. I'd go with a wet shot, though. I wouldn't push past 6 psi when going FI until you get it tuned by someone who knows what they're doing, and I wouldn't push it past 8-9 psi on stock internals after that. If you're looking to upgrade your internals, you're going to want to change out the connecting rods for a set of Eagle rods or Crower, and go with a forged piston. Get lower compression pistons, not higher, btw. And one of the most important parts that is commonly overlooked, is the rod bolts. Get some aftermarket rod bolts if you're planning to boost a good amount.

i would look into turbo charging your motor to get the best power gain, but nos is out of the question because burns your motor up slowly
