Timing belt and water pump needs replacing.
First off, I'm a beginner DIY. Recently I've noticed that it's past time to get these things replaced. Normally I would try to do it myself, but right now with things going on in my life I can't due to time contraints. I called a garage and they said parts and labor over $400.00. Is this a fair price?

Good. I just got the phone with someone who will do it for around 320.00....

Of course. Honda's parts for a 1997 Accord are outrageous. No offense...

I got OEM parts from Fel Pro, one of the head gasket replacement numbers is a Fel Pro number from Honda's shop. Timing belt, Balancer belt, timing and balancer bearings, bottom end kit. Paid about $105 total for all.
So $320 w/ labor is not bad at all. That is about $215 for labor.
Good Luck
