Impact gun, or get a breaker bar with a 8 feet pipe extension for more leverage. I tried using the breaker bar but it broke. So what I did was have my mechanic loosen the nut with an impact gun, then i tighten it to my own force and drove home like that to make my repairs. Hope this helps.

if you cant get ahold of an impact, try soaking it with wd 40, and heating it with a torch. It has always worked for me.

it should be easy as hell... but if those nuts are over torqued and sit for awhile it can be a pain in the ***. if you can drive to an autoshop and have them buzz it off with an impact, then put it back on and drive home. i had to do that this summer.

about 4 months ago i tried to remove my driver side axle nut with a breaker bad and about 5ft pipe. 4 months later i have 2 broken breaker bars, a new axle sitting in my garage, and still have a broken boot. yea, that little ****** wont just come of without a hell of a lot of elbow grease.

impact or a breaker bar with a long extension it will work make sure its a half inch drive or it will break remember to torqe it down to 181 ft pounds when your finished (if its a 5th gen)

Be careful with the torch because if you get the axle too hot you can "boil" the grease out of the wheel bearings. A big impact works the best.

i had to remove that nut this week and it was pretty easy...8 foot pole and a breaker bar....but make sure you torque to specs when you put it back together..goodluck..the 8 foot pole does the job

I use a Craftsman 18" 1/2 drive breaker bar with a 4' pipe over the breaker bar.
