Default Prelude 01 Valve Adjustment

Is it typical for 01 prelude with 45000 miles to need valve adjustments?
I hear a ticking sound and at higher rpm's it more noticeable.
Thanks in advance.

it depends on how hard the engine has been beat on. If you have some mechanic skills take of the head and see what's going on and then if you can't do the work yourself at least you know what is going on with the valvetrain.

Thats a stupid post

Don't take your head off if you dont know what your doing/dont have the correct tools. Besides that you only need to take off the cam cover to inspect the valvetrain, just looking at it wont tell you jack.
You don't have to adjust them but you could check each one with a set of feeler guages and see whether they're in spec or not.
You'll still need a torque wrench for re-assembly.

Shakes did a good guide on valve lash adjustment, you should look in the Prelude links
