correct me if Im wrong, but i'm almost positive that they are the same block.....everything isnide from the crank, pistons, rods, and head are all different but as far as the block and sleeves I'm pretty sure they are the same

This is a good question I guess since we always hear about the stronger rods or better head, but what about the block itself? Maybe i should search

the blocks are exactly the same. they are both b18's. just the gs-r has a different head than the ls.

no the crank, rods and pistons are different!

LS 89mm stroke
GSR 87.5mm stroke

LS Block is cheaper to buy and to build, so go LS for more stroke, displacement and torque! and use the money you saved to get a vtec head!

Did we seem to forget that a gsr motor has oil squirters and a main girdle. A couple of nice adavantages in my eyes. But for the money go lsvtec.<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by thaiphob &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">i just love how misinformation is a epidemic here

LS block is got more torque then GS-R block. but I HEARED LS/VTEC has a lot of problems.. so if I were you I would buy a full GS-R motor. just my 2 cents

good point I forgot about that! Also the knock sensor...is that possible on an ls?

The block itself doesn't have more torque !!!!! The rods/pistons/crank (stroke) make the torque. Also A b18c is a lot more expensive then a b18b that you can find anywhere

only if you dont build them right........ you dont just slap a vtec head on a ls block without first getting new rod bearings ,new rod bolts, gs-r/b16 oil pump, and new head studs..... those are crucial when building ls/vtec, and thats the main reason why people blow their ish up, they dont build it right....

I have bone stock GS-R with T3 turbo now...
I running 7PSi now, people who installed my turbo didn't tell me I have to get a lot of extra **** to support the turbo running good, like fuel injectors, fuel pump, piston, rods, etc.....
so now my car can't even start up right now, so if you want turbo, do some searching before you start ordering all the stuffs, I have little experience with it, oh. jUST MY 2 CENTS.
