Engine swap shop locations?
Hello everyone, well I am new to this site.
I just recently bought a 2000 honda civic hb dx, with a standard d16y7 engine.
I definately want to beef up this car, and I have idea's on what type of engine I want to put into it, depending on emmission standards of alaska and california, but still having enough horsepower to drive with and possibly adding a turbo.
I live in a city called fairbanks alaska, and I am from los angeles california.
I just want to see if anyone know's any good certified honda engine swap shops.
Because I do not have any general knowledge of honda engines nor swaps.
Too busy with work and studying to have that amount of free time.
I was thinking of doing a swap myself, but I want someone with experience and knowledge with the qualification and recommendation to handle the engine swap.
If anyone can help out with some helpful information, I would be most greatful.

You might wanna post in the correct forum, since this one is for 88-91 Civic/CRX's.
But as far as where to get teh swap done just ask around to see if you can find any good shops. Check outthe yellow pages or do a google on the net. If you cant find a shop to do it then try to find time to do it yourself. And for what it is worth, I'm not a certified mechanic but I have enough mechanical knowledge to be able to do my own swap. It's really not that hard to do...About the hardest part of the swap is dropping the motor into position. Everything else can easily be learned by looking at the factory service manual or reading the many how-to sites on the net.
A good place to start learning how to do it yourself is the hybrid forum on H-T.

hey blue shadow, thanks.
I had a feeling that I was going to post somewhere I shouldn't of but oh well im new to this message board.
Well thanks for the info, and it wouldn't seem to hard to swap out engines, but is there a difference since there's the vtec solenoid with the vtec engine?
Oh and I've seen on many civic's some component atteched to the front of the car right next to the radiator, but I don't know what it is. Looks like another radiator, but im thinking that it might be a cooling source for another fluid system.
