if you have a motor swap like a b-series, i think it's a good idea to have integra rates. You can't go wrong with a little stiffer rates. I'm also wondering this too.

Besides considering what engine is going to be swapped in, it's a good idea to ask what shocks are going to be used, what kind of use is the car going to see (just street? autox?)? You can't just blindly recommend a spring rate. Just because it's "custom" doesnt mean it's better.

Based on the fellows from the road racing forum and CRX Lee who works for Koni, 600 is going to be a tad over ideal for the valving of OTS konis. If 600lb/in is too much for konis, then I'd bet it's definitly too much for most other stocks.

If hes interested in custom rate Ground Controls i assume hes not going to be running stock struts. Who said anything about Konis?

edit: You can run 400/600 all day on AGX's.

I was just using konis as an example to show that 600 is a bit high for off-the-shelf shocks.

I found some shock dyno's for comparing koni yellows with AGX's. The koni's definitly have a higher range in rebound than the AGX. If 600 is too much for konis, then it's definitely too much for AGX's.

As for running 400/600 on AGX's, sure you "can" run it all day, that doesn't mean it works great. If you don't notice the porpoising that you get from an oversprung/underdamped suspension, then running high spring rates is fine.

Personally, I would choose the standard rates that ground controls come with. The spring rates are in a range good enough for stock and aftermarket shocks, especially for street use.

Either way 400/600 is WAY to much for a comfortable daily driver. IMO get Integra spring rates. That's more than enough. If you aren't satisfied, slap on some sway bars and you're set.

I agree. Stock GC rates for Civics are 325F/250R. I ran it for a while and it was comfortable in the street. During AutoX, I just drop the tire pressure down to 23psi and I had a TypeR sway in the rear and it whipped the backend enough.

400 front / 500 rear with koni yellows. Help eliminate some of the extra understeer a heavier B or H swap would add.
