do all intakes (after installing them) make a kind of hissing sound when you turn your ignition off?

 

hey man, dont worry about that lil hissing noise. its normal. mine does that all the time.i installed it right, i have installed alot of intakes, and its normal. i installed a intake on a s2ooo and it does the samething, so dont worry bout it.

hey thanx f1nal zeros!! but to me, it sounds pretty loud, as if somethings wrong..(damn am i paranoid)..is it kind of loud for in your car? one more thing, when you turn your steering wheel, does it also kind of makes the same sound, but like for 1/2 a sec?

With all kidding aside, yes the noise is normal.

 

hey man dont worry. yes mine does the same also. when i turn it off it is kind of loud. its just the air leave. when th car is on it is sucking alot more air in, so when u turn ur car off up to the point when the it stops, its just keep sucking. when u turn it off it just closes and the air comin in just leave, but the piping is what amplifies the sound. as for turnin the wheel, look at ur rpms when u turn ur wheel when u are parked. do he rpms go up a lil bit like 100-200 rpms if any? i have notice that alot on ff cars. i guess its normal. so dont worry about that, i was a lil paranoid when i first got my intake. i didnt want my baby to mess up, so i know what you are going through. the hissing is normal. also if u want check all the hoses goin to ur intake just to make sure. make sure they are all tight and put on right. check the clamps and the hoses just to be safe. when i put the intake on the s2ooo it was a pain in the ***. you have to replace the vacum lines, and coolant line. the coolant line that came with the intake didnt work and it spilled some fluid, so i had to get a hose from the local checkers. after that it was perfect. so if u want man recheck your hoses and clamps just to make sure. and the intake i have is a injen intake. the s2ooo also has a injen intake.

btw, did anyone reset the ECU after the intake install? im told by some that it's not necessary, but others say it's a must in order to compensate for the cooler air flow? ne info would be appreciated..tnx

 

Yeah dogg the hissing is normal!!! When u turn it off it goes psssssssssssssssss (stop) mine does it too but i have a question!

does anyone have this problom....after the isntalation of my intake i started hearing this scraping sound whenever i take off in first. just goin slow or whatever. it sounds like somethign is scraping and i dont know what it is... any ideas guys? someone told me it might be my flex pipe flexing (injen warm air) but i dont think it is. it sounds like something is literally scraping!!! any idea fellarz! thansk
