ECU CODES 10 and 17 but theirs a catch!!
The other day i was getting tps sensor and map sensor codes, today i check again and now it's different, with the tps connected i get 1 long blink repeated over and over so that's code 10 witch is IAT (Intake Air Temperature)sensor- Defective circuit or unplugged/Defective sensor.
But when i connect the tps and reset the ecu i get a code 17 1 long blink followed by 7 short blinks which is VSS (Vehicle Speed Sensor) - Defective circuit or unplugged/ Defective sensor. I don't get it my gauges and all is working on the cluster why would i get a code 17?
Silly question but does the 91 si tranny have a vss? i know their's a wire with looks like a plug connected to the tranny. anyways any help would be appreciated thanks .
P.S if i get any ecu code at all, will this cause v-tec not the work?

ecu troubleshooting.
yes the VSS is on the backside of the transmission, its a Cable on 91 civics it runs right to the back of the guage cluster.
If the VSS isnt hooked up vtec wont enguage because the computer doenst know what rpm the transmission is at.

Yea i checked the troubleshooting and it gave me what i was looking for but i want to know why wouldn't i get both codes at the same time? why would disconnecting the tps sensor give me a vss code and vise versa? shouldn't i get a tps code somewhere in their with it disconnected?
