Default turbo mani - help

Can a D16z6 EX cast manifold be used on a D16y8 as a turbo mani?
I heard a HF can, but what about the EX off a Z6?
Thanks.

I will work. Any d-series manifolds will intermix with each other.

What the hell are you guys talking about?

The EX manifold as far as I know is almost like a header.

the CX and HF manifolds are the ones you would need for a turbo manifold. A company on homemadeturbo.com makes adapter plates.

BTW, I have a spare HF if you need it...

you can still get a ex manifold to work but he is right cx and hf manifolds are way easier to fab up.

whats the big difference between using the EX over the CX of HF?
And yes.. your right.
The EX is like a header on 99 and 00, but before that they were cast manifolds and the one I have is off a 95.

NO dude,
all those people saying yes are probly just thinking you want to use it as a normal header.

the ex manifold wont work because it is a 4-2-1 setup, it turns into 2pipes, that won't work well at all to run into a turbo. also it hangs down super low compared to the cx/hf

the cx/hf is used alot because it's really short and stubby, and all 4 tubes run into one outlet that happens to be a good size to hook a turbo up to.

reason for this is it's built to have a cat sitting right up against it, while the ex's cat sits further down along the exhuast path.

correct... ex and si manifold(s) is pretty much a 4-2-1 header... the only one that can be used as a turbo manifold with a t3 addptr. plate would be the ones that have the cat on them.. if im not mistaken it would be hf, hx, and cx...
